Blasita y Blasito eran los nombres que usaban mis abuelos entre ellos. Así es como se llamaban uno al otro amorosamente. Quizá era su secreto. Descubrí estos nombres en sus cartas de amor que llegaron a mí cuando mi abuelita murió.  Dibujé a mis Blasitos hace algunos años para conmemorar un Día de Muertos, mi celebración favorita. Su amor fue un ejemplo para mí.  Los extraño. A pesar de que mi abuelito murió cuando yo tenía 9 años,  fue mucho lo que me enseñó y mucha la felicidad que me dio. Mi abuelita fue mi mejor amiga y alguien que siempre creyó en mí, tanto en mis mejores como en mis peores momentos.  No importa cuánto tiempo ha pasado, los extraño tanto como cuando se fueron o quizá más.  Hoy, en este día difícil, los siento conmigo y me siento mejor.

Blasita and Blasito were the nicknames my grandparents used for each other when they were alone.  That’s how they lovingly called each other.  Maybe it was their secret. I found these nicknames in their loveletter which I got when my grandma died. I drew my Blasitos some years ago to celebrate the The Day of the Death, my favorite holiday. Their love set an example for me. I miss them.  Although my grandpa died when I was 9 years old, he taught me a great many things and he gave me great happiness.  My grandma was my best friend and someone who always believed in me, at the best moments of my life and at the worst ones too. It doesn’t matter how long it has been, I miss them as much as when they said good-bye or even more. Today, in this very difficult day, I feel their love with me and I feel better.
